A discovery Tour from the Atlas to the Sahara
The must : Southern Morocco large valleys : Dades and Draa, High and Anti- Atlas, Night in bivouac in the Sahara, private journey with driver-guide.
DAY 1: Marrakesh / Ouarzazate / Boulmane Dades
320 km of which 45km of tracks, about 6/7h
Breakfast and departure southwards.
Route of the Tizi' n Tichka, towards the Grand South. Departure towards the Valley of Dadès or 1000 kasbahs, route by the track in the Rose Valley. Discovery of the village of Bou Thrarar, in a mountainous case, continuation in the gorges of Dades.
Night in the inn Ait Oudinar, hotel of charm.
DAY 2: Boulmane Dades / Tinerhir / N'kob
280 km of which 45 km of tracks, about 8/9h
The route begins in the gorges of Dadès, which we will follow down to desert plateaus, before finally joining the magnificent palm grove of Tinerhir and the gorges of Todra.
A route by track in the massif of Djebel Saghro, will lead us towards N'kob. The massif of Saghro is a volcanic massif, with its southern hillside of surprising rocky formations. Gradually we shall cross nomads’ summer territories and quiet palm groves. N'kob is one of the southern villages offering the largest amount of kasbahs.
Night at IMDOUKAL inn, Guest house of charm.
DAY 3: N'kob / Zagora / Erg Chigaga.
290 km of which 80 of tracks, about 7/8h
Departure by the road into the heart of the massifs of the Anti-Atlas, to join Agdz and the valley of Draa.
We will follow this one until Zagora by the western hillside in the middle of berber villages and Kasbahs.
Continuation by both road and track from Tagounite to Ben Ali, visit of the medersa and potters in Tamgroute.
Departure by tracks until M’hamid, stopover in the village centre, lunch-time.
Discovery of the palm groves of Draa, then route into the Sahara, up to the dunes of Erg Chigaga for a late afternoon stroll.
Dinner and overnight in bivouacs at the foothill of the big dune.
DAY 4: Erg Chegaga / Tazenarht / Skoura
320 km of which 100 of tracks, about 8/9h
Sunrise and morning stroll.
Departure after breakfast by tracks in Sahara dunes towards lake Iriki and M'daouar Kebir.
Discovery of an open-air fossil site, track alternating ergs and regs. Arrival at Foum Zuigd where we take the road towards Tazenarht crossing the massifs of Anti-Atlas, landscapes between mountain and oasis.
We shall have luch in the heart of Tazenarht village aafterwards either road or track towards Ouarzazate and especially the palm grove of Skoura. Visit of the very ancient kasbah of Améridil.
Night at the guest house Les Jardins de Skoura.
DAY 5: Skoura / Aît ben Haddou/ Telouet / Marrakesh
250 km of which 30 of tracks, about 8/9h
Return to Marrakesh, we shall discover Aît ben Haddou's cultural site, classified UNESCO world heritage, afterwards the Piste Des Caravans.
This 29 km route requires approximately 3 hours. It goes along the valley of Assif Ounila. Arrival in Télouet to visit the site and the Kasbah of Pasha Glaoui, then the route returns towards Marrakesh by the Tichka pass.
Arrival in Marrakesh at the end of the day.
