Kasbahs, arisen from rammed earth architecture, were built, to mark the power of "caïds" and southern Morocco Pashas. Sahara endows Morocco with its first big princely dynasty: Almoravides.
Region : Aït ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, skoura, boulmanes Dades, the gorges of Dades and toghra, djebel Saghro, Valley of Draa, Zagora, M'hamid, Sahara desert, erg Chegaga, lac Iriki, Tazenarht .

Day 1 : Marrakesh / Ait ben Haddou / Ouarzazate-- Distance : 220 km of which 30km of trak 6/7h

Breakfast and departure towards South. Itinerary : route of Tizi' n Tichka, stop for lunch and visit of Pasha Glaoui ‘s Kasbah in Télouet, track of the caravans of the salt, this 29 km route requires approximately 3 hours. It goes along the valley of the assif Ounila, arrival at Aît ben Haddou, classified UNESCO world heritage . Visit of the site. Night at riad Salam 4* hotel of charm. |

Day 2 : Ouarzazatte/Zagora / Erg Chigaga. Distance : 300 km of which 60km of trak 8/9h

Departure on the road by the massifs of Anti-Atlas, to reach Agdz and the Valley of Draa , we shall follow this way until Zagora by the western hillside going through rammed earth villages and Kasbahs. Continuation by the road and track of Tagounite to ben Ali, visit of the medersa and potters in Tamgroute, departure from

the track until M'Hamid stop in the center of the village and in the Draa palm groves, then through the Sahara, up to the dunes of Erg Chegaga for a nice drive at day end. Bivouac at Erg Chegaga, under Bedouin tent set by the foothill of the big dune. |

Day 3 : Erg Chigaga /Tazenarht/ Marrakesh . Distance: 400 km of which 100km of trak 8/9h

Departure following breakfast by tracks into Sahara, towards Lake Iriki and M' Daouar Kebir. Discovery of an open site of fossils, track alternating landscapes in the sand, on the lake and on a reg.
Arrival to Foum Zuigd we shall take the road towards Tazenarht crossing the massifs of Anti-Atlas, landscape between mountain and oasis. The meal will be taken in the village of Tazenarht and on the road towards the pass over the Tizi'n Ttichka Return to Marrakesh . |
