Kasbahs, arisen from rammed earth architecture, were built, to mark the power of "caïds" and southern Morocco Pashas. Sahara endows Morocco with its first big princely dynasty: Almoravides.
Region : Aït ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, skoura, boulmanes Dades, the gorges of Dades and toghra, djebel Saghro, Valley of Draa, Zagora, M'hamid, Sahara desert, erg Chegaga, lac Iriki, Tazenarht .
The must: The large valleys of southern Morocco : Dades, Toghra and Draa, the high and anti Atlas, night in bivouac Saharan nomad's camp in the heart of the Sahara, private trip with driver-guide, travel diary offered. |

Day 1 : Marrakesh / Ouarzazate / Boulmanes Dades – Distances : 320 Km of which 45 km of track Approximatly 6/7h
|

Breakfast and departure southward. Itinerary: routes of Tizi' n Tichka, towards the valleys of the South. Departure towards the valley of Dades or of the “1000 kasbahs”, track to the rose valley. Discovery of Bou Thrarar a village in a mountainous jewel case, going on towards the gorges of Dades. Night “chez Pierre ” inn, hotel of charm.

Day 2: Boulmanes/ Tinerhir /N'kob-- – Distances : 200 Km of which 60 km of track Approximatly 8/9h

The route begins in the gorges of Dades, which we shall drive down to reach the desert plateaus, before finally joining the magnificent palm grove of Tinerhir and gorges of Todra.

The track in the massif of the djebel Saghro, will lead us towards N'Kob. The massif of Saghro is a volcanic massif, at first made of high fertile plateaus and on its south hillside rocky surprising formation. Gradually we shall cross nomad's summer territories in the quiet palm groves. N'Kob is one of the Southern villages offering the largest number of kasbahs, in one village. Night at the inn IMDOUKAL, guest's house of charm. |

Day 3: N'Kob/ Zagora /Erg Chigaga-- – Distances : 250 Km of which 100 km of track Approximatly 7/8h

Departure by the road on the massifs of Anti-Atlas, to join Agdz and the Valley of Draa , we shall follow this road until Zagora by the western hillside in the middle of rammed earth villages and kasbahs. Following, by the road and track of Tagounite to Ben Ali, visit of the medersa and potters in Tamgroute, departure by

the track until M'Hamid, stop in the center of the village and in the palm groves of Draa, then ride into the Sahara , up to the dunes of Erg Chegaga for a nice late afternoon.

Day 4 : Erg Chigaga /Tazenarht/ skoura--
Distances : 230 Km of which 130 km of track Approximatly 8/9h

Sunrise and morning stroll. Departure following breakfast by tracks into the Sahara, in the direction of Lake Iriki , towards daouar M'Kebir. Discovery open-air fossil site, track alternating landscape in the sand, on the lake and on the erg. |

Once at Foum Zuigd we will take the road towards Tazenarht crossing the massifs of Anti-Atlas, landscapes between mountain and oasis. The meal will be taken in the village of Tazenarht and road or track towards Ouarzazate more specially the Palm grove of Skoura. Visit of the very old kasbah of Améridil and Aït Ben Haddou

Day 5 : Skoura / Aît Ben Haddou/ Télouet / Marrakesh -- – Distances: 250 Km of which 30 km of track Approximatly 8/9h |
Returning towards Marrakesh, we shall discover Aït Ben Haddou's cultural site, UNESCO world heritage, the track of the caravans of the salt, this 29 km route requires approximately 3 hours going along the valley of the assif Ounila. Arrival in Télouet for a visit of the site and the Kasbah of Pasha Glaoui, then heading to Marrakesh by the pass of Tichka . |
