Trek Marrakesh High Atlas

Day 1 / Marrakesh / Asni / Imi Oughlad / Tizi Oussem ( 5h 30 WALK) |
Departure to Imi Oughlad. We shall pass by Tahanout, who marks the first foothills of the Atlas and little by little the country becomes openly mountainous. What strikes is the variety of the massifs: some are afforested, others bald, certain rounded off, others offer furrowed slopes as gaping wounds, contrast of colours, going from red sand, to grey anthracite, is most amazing. The road follows the gorges of oued Raghaya sometimes levelled with the water, sometimes rising in ledge to come down again. Having crossed Asni, we arrive at Imi Oughlad ( 1357 m ), start of our trek. Passing through junipers and holm oaks forest, we shall cross many sheepfolds and herds.
Arrival at the famous pass Tacht (2160 m) , panoramic view on: the south hillside, the Valley Azaden and far mountains of Tiziane region, summit of Igdat 3600 m , Plateau of Tichka (2800 m) , ski resort of Oukaimden and Djebel Angour (3500 m) ... Picnic during the trek. After a rest, we shall start the descent to Tizi Oussem.

Day 2 : Tizi Oussem / Azib Tamesoult / Armed (

After breakfast, we begin the day by a climb before arriving to Azib Tamessoult. Afterwards we shall follow a nice path, without any trouble, through a big dense juniper forest, in the shade, up to the pass of Mezik (2.500 m) , resting and enjoying the beautiful landscape and peaks of Toubkal, long descent towards Mezik then, Armed.

VALLEY OF IMLIL

Day 3 : Armed / Tamatert / Ouanskra (

Little by little we gradually rise towards Tizi N' Tamatert's pass ( 2 280 m ), the rocky barrier which separates the Valley of Imlil of that of Imenane. You will discover a panoramic sight overlooking both valleys and their distant mountains (Oukaimden 3 700 m , Mezik 2 700m). Descent to Ouanskra.

Day 4 : Ouanskra - Imsker - Imi Oughlad - Marrakesh ( 5h 30 WALK) |
We shall follow the beautiful valley of Imenane crossing very beautiful Berber villages, of which Ikkis and Tamguist. Picnic lunch near the river fall. Little by little we gradually rise, settings are magnificent, the color of trapues houses going from ochre to dark red, pass El Bour (1500 m). The last pass before arriving at Imi-Oughlad ( 1350 m ), where ends our trek.
Return transfer to Marrakesh . 1h30 car drive |
